Quick answer
Riyadh to Makkah is roughly 870 km by road through Taif, usually 9 to 10 hours with prayer and rest stops. Marhaba Haji collects your family from your Riyadh address and drives you to your Makkah hotel, stopping at the Miqat of Qarn al-Manazil on the way so you can enter Ihram. You travel together with all your bags, without airport queues. Long-distance transfers are priced per vehicle and quoted in writing for your date before you pay.
Flying from Riyadh to Jeddah is quicker in the air, but with check-in, the airport transfer and luggage, a family's door-to-door time is often half a day anyway. A private car suits families with elderly parents, young children or a lot of luggage, and anyone who wants to leave from home and arrive at the hotel without changing vehicles.
For a drive this long we plan proper breaks for prayer, food and rest. If your family wants to break the journey overnight, tell us and we include it in the quote.
Travellers coming from Riyadh pass the Miqat of Qarn al-Manazil: the mosque at As-Sayl al-Kabir, or the mosque at Wadi Muharram if you come through Taif and down the Al Hada road. Many pilgrims shower and put on Ihram clothes at home, then pray at the Miqat mosque and make their intention there. The driver plans the stop with you.
Long-distance transfers are not on our published rate chart. Send your date, pickup area, passenger count and bags, and we reply with a price per vehicle, quoted in writing before you pay. We can also quote the return trip and transfers in Makkah and Madinah.
