Quick answer
Jeddah airport to Madinah is roughly 400 km by expressway, usually about 4 to 4.5 hours with a short rest stop. It suits pilgrims who land in Jeddah but want to start with Madinah, and families who would rather not move luggage through train stations. Marhaba Haji's driver meets you at arrivals and drives you to your Madinah hotel. The published 1448 H rate is fixed per vehicle and also applies from Madinah to Jeddah.

Some pilgrims land in Jeddah and visit Madinah first, then travel to Makkah for Umrah. In that case you usually enter Ihram later, at Dhul Hulayfah on the way from Madinah to Makkah. Confirm this with your scholar before you travel.
After a long flight, a private car lets elderly travellers and children sleep on the way instead of changing to a train with all the bags.
The Haramain train also runs from Jeddah airport to Madinah. It is faster between stations, but you still need transport at the Madinah end and you carry your own luggage. Our comparison guide below sets out both options.
