The odd nights of the last ten

An Islamic night begins at sunset, so each odd night starts on the evening before that day's fast. If Ramadan begins on 8 February, the odd nights are expected to begin at sunset on these evenings:

  • 21st nightEvening of Saturday 27 February
  • 23rd nightEvening of Monday 1 March
  • 25th nightEvening of Wednesday 3 March
  • 27th nightEvening of Friday 5 March
  • 29th nightEvening of Sunday 7 March

A one-day shift in the moon sighting moves every night by a day. If the last ten nights matter most to you, book a stay that covers the whole stretch rather than a single night.

Where to start

Check your visa route

For Indian passport holders in India, the Gulf, the UK, North America or Europe. Three questions show the route usually open to you.

Hotels near the Haram

Compare hotels by walking distance to a named gate. Ramadan and last-ten rates differ from the rest of the year, so we confirm them in a written quote for your exact dates.

Hotel and transport only

Open to every passport. If you already have your visa and flights, we arrange the hotels, airport transfers and Makkah–Madinah travel. We don't sell visas to travellers who don't need one.

Crowds and prices: what to expect

  • Prices climb through the month. The last ten nights are the peak, and the closest hotels sell out first. There is no single "Ramadan price": your quote shows the rate for your exact nights.
  • Distance matters more than stars. In the last ten nights the walk to the Haram, and back after Taraweeh or Tahajjud, is part of your worship. We give distance to a named gate, and we flag slopes and long walks for elderly pilgrims.
  • The first ten days are gentler. For elderly pilgrims, first-timers and families with young children, the first or middle part of the month is often the better choice.
  • Plan the Rawdah early. Rawdah visits in Madinah need a Nusuk permit, and Ramadan slots go quickly. See our Rawdah permit help.
  • I'tikaf needs its own planning. In recent years, i'tikaf at the two Holy Mosques has needed registration through official channels. The rules for 2027 are announced closer to Ramadan, and we confirm them when you book.

What we confirm in writing before you pay

  • The hotel by name, and the room type: twin or double, and family or interconnecting rooms where you need them.
  • Walking distance to a named gate of the Haram, not a straight-line figure.
  • Haram view only when the hotel has confirmed it. Otherwise it is a request, and we say so.
  • Your exact dates and the total price, with taxes stated as included or not.
  • The last date you can cancel free of charge.
  • No substitute hotel without your consent.

After the booking is confirmed you receive a hotel voucher with the hotel confirmation number in your name. How payment and refunds work is set out on payments, cancellations and refunds.

01When is Ramadan 2027?
Ramadan 2027 (1448 AH) is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027 and end on 8 or 9 March, with Eid al-Fitr on 9 or 10 March. The exact start depends on the moon sighting, so every date can move by a day. Quotes and hotel vouchers always use exact calendar dates.
02When are the last ten nights of Ramadan 2027?
If Ramadan begins on 8 February, the 21st night begins at sunset on Saturday 27 February. The odd nights then fall on the evenings of 27 February and 1, 3, 5 and 7 March. A one-day shift in the moon sighting moves all of them by a day, so book a stay that covers the whole stretch.
03Is Umrah in Ramadan more expensive?
Yes. Hotel rates near the Haram rise through the month and peak in the last ten nights, when the closest hotels sell out first. The first ten days are usually the lowest Ramadan rates. We quote the exact total for your dates in writing, with no single 'Ramadan price' that hides the last-ten peak.
04Which visa do I need for Umrah in Ramadan?
It depends on your passport and where you live. Indian passport holders can use our free Saudi visa checker to see their usual route. Citizens of the GCC countries do not need a visa. Many other passports can use the Saudi tourist e-visa, so we do not sell them a visa. We arrange hotels and transport instead. Always confirm on the official Saudi visa platform.
05Can you book only a hotel and transport for Ramadan?
Yes. Hotel stays in Makkah and Madinah, with transport, are open to guests of every nationality. You get one written quote naming the hotel, room, dates, total and free-cancellation date, and you pay the quoted total in full by card. After the booking is confirmed you receive a voucher with the hotel confirmation number in your name.
06Do you guarantee a Haram-view room?
No. A Haram view is confirmed only when the hotel confirms it in writing for your booking. Until then it is a request, and your quote says so. The same applies to the walking distance: we state it to a named gate, not as a straight-line figure.
