Clock Tower and the hotels facing the courtyard
The shortest walk, and the first to sell out. Worth it if you plan to pray in the Haram every night, or are travelling with elderly parents.
Ramadan 2027 · Last ten nights
The last ten nights are expected to begin at sunset on Saturday 27 February 2027. The hotels closest to the Haram sell out first. Tell us your nights and we send a written quote for hotels, rooms and transport.
An Islamic night begins at sunset, so the 21st night starts on the evening before the 21st fast. If Ramadan begins on 8 February, the odd nights are expected to begin at sunset on:
To cover all of them, check in to Makkah on Friday 26 February. A day early means a late flight or a one-day shift in the moon sighting doesn't cost you the 21st night. Ramadan is expected to end on Monday 8 or Tuesday 9 March 2027, with Eid al-Fitr on Tuesday 9 or Wednesday 10 March 2027. If you want to pray Eid in the Haram, keep the room until the morning after.
In the last ten nights you may walk to the Haram and back two or three times a night: for Isha and Taraweeh, for Tahajjud, and again for Fajr. Distance matters more than stars. We give the walking distance to a named gate, never a straight-line figure, and flag slopes and long walks for elderly pilgrims.
The shortest walk, and the first to sell out. Worth it if you plan to pray in the Haram every night, or are travelling with elderly parents.
A short walk, with more choice of hotels and room types. Check whether the route is uphill and how crowded it gets after Taraweeh.
Much lower rates, but in the last ten nights traffic around the Haram is heavily restricted and shuttles can be slow or stop at peak times. Ask where the shuttle drops off and when the last one runs.
Compare hotels by distance in our guides to hotels in Makkah and hotels in Madinah. Last-ten rates differ from the rest of the year, so we confirm them for your exact nights.
If a hotel is full for your nights, we tell you and suggest one at a similar distance. We never swap a hotel without your consent.
Many pilgrims visit Madinah in the first or middle part of Ramadan and move to Makkah before the 21st night, so the journey doesn't take one of the odd nights. Rawdah visits need a Nusuk permit, and Ramadan slots go quickly: see our Rawdah permit help.
We arrange private cars for airport transfers and the Makkah–Madinah journey, or the Haramain train with a car at each end. Transfers in the last ten are timed around Iftar and Taraweeh, when the roads near the Haram are at their busiest. See transport for vehicles and routes.
Always confirm your route on the official Saudi visa platform before you travel.
How payment and refunds work is set out on payments, cancellations and refunds.
