Can we walk from Masjid an-Nabawi to Masjid Quba?

In short

Yes — there is a walking route between the two mosques that many fit pilgrims use, often in the cool early morning. It is a long walk for elderly pilgrims or in the heat, when a taxi or a ziyarat tour is the better choice.

Walking

  • A dedicated walking route connects the area of Masjid an-Nabawi with Masjid Quba.
  • Go early in the morning or after sunset; avoid the midday heat.
  • Carry water and wear comfortable shoes.

When not to walk

  • With elderly parents, young children or anyone with heart, joint or breathing problems.
  • In the hot months in the middle of the day.

Other ways to reach Quba: taxi, the city's buses, or a ziyarat tour that includes Quba with Uhud and Masjid al-Qiblatain.

Why pilgrims visit Quba: it is the first mosque built in Islam, and many pilgrims pray two rak'ahs there.
