Privacy notice

Marhaba Answers is run by Marhaba Ventures Private Limited (“Marhaba Haji”), 63/1, 3rd Floor, Paramount Avenue, Mosque Road Cross, Frazer Town, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560005, India. This notice explains what personal data Marhaba Answers uses when you ask a question, mark an answer helpful or report something, and why. It is written in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

• Your question and its details — to answer it and publish it with the answer. We may edit it lightly to remove personal details before publishing.
• The name you choose to give (optional) — shown with your question exactly as you write it. If you leave it empty, you appear as “Anonymous pilgrim”.
• Your e-mail address or phone number (optional) — used only to tell you that your question has been answered, and only if you tick the consent box. It is never shown on the site.
• A one-way code made from your internet (IP) address — stored with your question, Helpful mark or report, and used only to limit spam and to count one Helpful mark per person. It cannot be turned back into your IP address, and we do not store the address itself.
• A random code saved in your browser — so the site can remember that you already marked an answer helpful. It contains nothing about you.

Our website analytics record that a question was sent, an answer was marked helpful or a search found nothing. They never include your name, contact details or the words you typed.

• Contact details: deleted 90 days after we tell you your question is answered, or 90 days after we decide not to publish it.
• Published questions and answers: kept as part of the library, because they help other pilgrims. You can ask us to remove your name or your question (see “Your rights”).
• Questions we do not publish: kept by our team for moderation records and never shown publicly.

• Sell or rent your data, or share it for anyone else's marketing.
• Display your contact details, or use them to send you offers.
• Use your question for anything other than answering it and keeping the library accurate.

Your data is stored with the hosting and database providers that run this website, under their security controls. We disclose it to anyone else only if the law requires us to.

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it; you can withdraw your consent to be contacted at any time; and you can raise a grievance with us. Write to our grievance contact (below) and tell us which question it concerns. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to send the question for you.
