We want to be in Makkah for Laylat al-Qadr next year. Which dates should we book?

Written and checked by our team, with dated sources.

In short

If Ramadan 1448 begins on Monday 8 February 2027, the last ten nights begin at sunset on Saturday 27 February. The odd nights then begin on the evenings of 27 February and 1, 3, 5 and 7 March. The moon sighting can move every date by a day, so book a stay that covers the whole stretch.

Expected dates (moon sighting may move each by a day)

  • 1 Ramadan: Monday 8 February 2027.
  • Night 21 begins at sunset on Saturday 27 February.
  • Odd nights begin on the evenings of 27 February, 1, 3, 5 and 7 March.
  • Ramadan is expected to end on 8 or 9 March, with Eid al-Fitr on 9 or 10 March.

Booking tip

  • Check in on 26 February, a day early, so a late flight or a one-day shift doesn't cost you the 21st night.
