Harab Rasheed
What takes the time
- Tawaf (seven circuits): the biggest variable. On the busy ground floor near the Kaaba the circuits are short but slow; on the upper floors each circuit is much longer but moves more freely.
- Two rak'ahs after tawaf, plus water and rest.
- Sa'i (seven walks between Safa and Marwah, about 3 km in total): usually steadier than tawaf.
- Shaving or trimming, then back to the hotel.
Our experience-based guide (not an official figure): about three hours for a fit adult at a quiet time; four to six hours or more in Ramadan, on Friday nights or straight after a congregational prayer.
For elderly parents
- Go at quieter hours — our team watches crowd levels and can suggest a window.
- Rest the day you arrive if the journey was long; Umrah does not have to be done the minute you check in.
- Use a wheelchair or the electric carts for tawaf and sa'i if walking is hard; plan the toilet and water stops.
- Keep the group together with a fixed meeting point.
Note that the Mataf ground floor is reserved for pilgrims performing Umrah, and tawaf is also offered on upper floors depending on capacity.
Next step: read our guide to Umrah with elderly parents.
