Can I do i'tikaf in Masjid al-Haram in Ramadan 2027?

I'd like to spend the last ten nights in i'tikaf in the Haram. How does it work?

In short

In recent years, i'tikaf at Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi has needed registration through official channels, with limited places. The rules for 2027 are announced closer to Ramadan. We confirm them and let you know when registration opens, but we can't promise a place.

What to plan now

  • Book your stay so it covers the last ten nights.
  • Decide whether to keep your hotel room for luggage, rest and family members not in i'tikaf.

When rules are announced

  • Register through the official channel as soon as it opens; places are limited.

Next step: see the whole month and i'tikaf; tick the i'tikaf box in the form and we'll tell you when registration opens.
