How it usually works
- Most airlines allow one sealed 5-litre bottle per passenger as checked baggage, bought from approved outlets in Makkah, Madinah or at the airport.
- Keep it sealed in its original box, labelled with your name and phone number.
- Don't pack Zamzam inside a suitcase or carry re-filled cans — these are a common reason for problems at check-in.
- Hand luggage: cabin liquid limits still apply.
Before you fly
- Check your airline's current Zamzam policy for your route; whether it counts against your baggage allowance varies.
- Ask whether connecting flights (for example via a Gulf hub) allow it.
Tip: if you want Zamzam for family gatherings in India, the airport containers are the most reliable way to get it home.
