Can we bring young children for Umrah in Ramadan?

We have a 4-year-old and a baby. Is Ramadan a good time to bring them?

In short

Yes, many families do. The first ten days are usually calmest. Choose a family or connecting room close to the Haram, plan Umrah for a time that suits the children, and avoid the most crowded nights with very young children.

Tips

  • Agree a meeting point and put a contact card in each child's pocket.
  • Carry water and snacks; children don't need to fast.
  • Go between prayers rather than at the busiest times.

Next step: see the first and middle ten days for families.
