Ramadan 2027 · First and middle ten days

Umrah in the first or middle ten days of Ramadan 2027

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027. The first and middle ten days are calmer and usually cheaper than the last ten nights, which makes them a good fit for first-timers, elderly parents and families with children.

Planning for the whole family

Family rooms close by

Family or connecting rooms, a short and flat walk to the Haram, and a lift that copes with prams and wheelchairs. We confirm the room type and walking distance in your quote.

Umrah when it suits the family

Many families perform Umrah after Iftar or late at night, when it is cooler and everyone has eaten. Plan it for the first night or two, while everyone is fresh.

Help for elders

Wheelchairs and electric carts can be used for Tawaf and Sa'i at Masjid al-Haram. Tell us who needs help and we explain where to find them, and add a wheelchair to your transfers.

Rest between prayers

Taraweeh every night is a lot for children and elders. Choose a few nights to pray in the Haram and rest on the others; a hotel close by makes that easy.

Madinah, transport and visa

Many families visit both cities: Makkah first while everyone is fresh for Umrah, then Madinah. Rawdah visits need a Nusuk permit, with separate times for men and women; see our Rawdah permit help. We arrange private cars sized for your family, or the Haramain train with a car at each end.

The visa depends on your passport: Indian passport holders can use our visa checker, GCC citizens need none, and many other passports use the Saudi tourist e-visa, so we don't sell them one. Hotels and transport are open to every passport.

What we confirm in writing before you pay

  • The hotel by name, and the room type: twin or double, and family or interconnecting rooms where you need them.
  • Walking distance to a named gate of the Haram, not a straight-line figure.
  • Haram view only when the hotel has confirmed it. Otherwise it is a request, and we say so.
  • Your exact dates and the total price, with taxes stated as included or not.
  • The last date you can cancel free of charge.
  • No substitute hotel without your consent.

How payment and refunds work is set out on payments, cancellations and refunds.

Our concierge replies on WhatsApp with options and an exact quote for your dates.

01When are the first and middle ten days of Ramadan 2027?
If Ramadan begins on Monday 8 February 2027, the first ten days run from 8 to 17 February and the middle ten from 18 to 27 February. The last ten nights begin at sunset on 27 February. The moon sighting can move every date by a day; your quote uses exact calendar dates.
02Is the first part of Ramadan cheaper for Umrah?
Usually, yes. Hotel rates near the Haram rise through the month and peak in the last ten nights. The first ten days are normally the lowest Ramadan rates. We quote the exact total for your dates in writing.
03Is the first part of Ramadan good for elderly parents?
Often it is the best choice. It is calmer than the last ten nights, the walks are less crowded and there is more room to rest. Choose a hotel with a short, flat walk to the Haram and tell us about any mobility needs.
04Can we bring young children?
Yes. Families with children often prefer the first ten days for the calmer crowds. We suggest family or connecting rooms close to the Haram, and planning Umrah for a time of day that suits the children.
05Should we visit Madinah too?
Many families visit both cities. A common plan is Makkah first while everyone is fresh for Umrah, then Madinah. Rawdah visits need a Nusuk permit, with separate times for men and women, so plan them early.
