Egypt · Cairo & Alexandria · 3–5 night stopover
Al-Azhar, the Citadel and the old lanes of Islamic Cairo — a scholar's city, before or after your Umrah.
Egypt must come before you first enter Saudi Arabia or after you finally leave it. On a single-entry Saudi visa it can never go in the middle.
Egypt first
Fly Cairo → Jeddah in Ihram, entering it before the Miqat.
Umrah first
Rest in Cairo after your Umrah, then fly home.
Cairo has been a city of scholars for a thousand years. Pray in Al-Azhar, walk Al-Muizz Street past Mamluk mosques and madrasas, visit the Citadel and the resting place of Imam al-Shafi'i, then see the Pyramids and the sea at Alexandria. Families come for the history; the call to prayer follows you everywhere.
Best time: October to April — warm days and cool evenings. June to August is very hot in Cairo.

Pair it with your Umrah
Egypt is a flight, not a drive. We plan it as the first or last leg of your trip, so your Saudi visa, Ihram and Miqat timings stay simple.
Adab & halal notes
Not on a single-entry Saudi visa. Leaving Saudi Arabia ends that visa, so you could be refused re-entry. Plan Egypt before you first enter Saudi Arabia or after you finally leave. If you hold a multiple-entry visa, check its conditions with us first.
Yes. Many Indian travellers can apply for an Egypt e-visa online before travel, and some holders of valid US, UK or Schengen visas may get a visa on arrival. Rules and fees change, so we confirm the right option for each traveller when we quote.
No. We only help with Egypt visa paperwork as part of an Egypt stopover booked with your Umrah. We do not offer a standalone visa service.
We visit mosques and the graves of scholars such as Imam al-Shafi'i the way the Sunnah teaches: give salam, make du'a for them and leave. We do not take part in practices at shrines such as tawaf, touching or asking from the dead, and you can skip any visit you prefer not to make.
