Makkah to Madinah · Prophetic Hijrah trail
Don't just travel between Makkah and Madinah. Walk in the footsteps of the Beloved ﷺ.
Ala Khutah (على خطاه — "In His Footsteps") is a Saudi cultural initiative that brings the Hijrah of the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr (RA) to life along a roughly 470 km trail from Makkah to Madinah. Instead of a 4.5-hour highway run or the train, you stop at the places where the Seerah happened — Ghar Thawr, the tent of Umm Ma'bad, Al-Juhfah and finally Quba. Marhaba Haji arranges your private vehicle, timing and booking help around the official programme.
Best time: Winter and spring, when the official stations are open and desert days are mild. Dates are set by the organisers each season.
