Should we stay close to the Haram for the last ten nights?

The close hotels are much dearer. Is it worth it for the last ten?

In short

For most pilgrims who come for the last ten nights, yes. You may walk to the Haram and back two or three times a night, for Taraweeh, Tahajjud and Fajr, and traffic near the Haram is heavily restricted. A short walk saves strength for worship, especially for elders.

Why distance matters more in the last ten

  • Several trips a night between the hotel and the Haram.
  • Shuttles can be slow or stop at the busiest times.
  • The car may not reach hotels closest to the Haram, so a close hotel means a short walk end to end.

If budget is tight

  • Consider the first or middle ten days, when rates are usually lower.
  • Or a slightly further hotel with a flat, easy walk rather than a shuttle.

Next step: compare hotels by walking distance, or ask for a written quote for the last ten nights.
