Harab Rasheed
The rules (HCoI Guidelines for Haj 2027)
- 65 and above: a companion is mandatory, because Hajj can involve walking up to 25 km a day in harsh heat.
- Companion's age: 18 to 65 years.
- Ladies without mehram aged 65+: the companion must be female, aged 45 to 60.
- Repeaters (who've done Haj through HCoI before) may go only as a mehram or companion, on extra charges, and the pilgrim must declare no first-time companion is available in the family.
Seat priority in each state
- 65 and above (including ladies without mehram in that age group).
- Ladies without mehram below 65.
- Backlog general category from Haj 2026's waiting list.
- General category — by draw of lots where needed.
For your mother (67) and her sister: her sister can be her companion only if she is 45–60 (if your mother travels without a mehram) or 18–65 otherwise. Check her sister's age against the date HCoI specifies.
Next step: read the HCoI guidelines for your state's dates, or ask us about the private route.
