Essential reading
Can I visit Riyadh, AlUla or other cities on an Umrah visa?
Yes. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has said Umrah visa holders may move between Makkah, Madinah and other Saudi cities during the visa's validity. Stay within your visa dates; the Umrah visa doesn't allow work or Hajj.

Official answer1 answerActive 24 Oct 2026How early should I apply for an Umrah visa before my travel date?
Apply once your hotels and flights are confirmed, and leave several weeks before departure — more in Ramadan and school holidays. Biometric appointments and hotel registration can add time, and the 1448 season's last visa issuance date is 9 March 2027.
Official answer1 answerActive 24 Oct 2026Can I apply for an Umrah visa myself, without an agent?
On an Indian passport you apply through a licensed Umrah provider — chosen on Saudi Arabia's Nusuk Umrah platform or directly. The exception is the Saudi tourist e-visa, which allows Umrah but is open only to Indians with certain US, UK or Schengen visas or GCC residence.
