Travelling with other women changes the journey. Our women-friendly departures bring together friends, sisters, mothers and daughters in groups where most pilgrims are women, led on the ground by Marhaba's woman group leader — so every traveller has someone to turn to at every step, and families at home stay connected throughout. These groups are not women-only: men may also be part of the group.

01Do you run women-only Umrah groups?
Not at the moment. Our women-friendly departures are led by a woman group leader and most pilgrims are women, but men may also be part of the group. If a women-only group matters to you, tell us when you enquire.
02Can women travel for Umrah without a mahram?
Saudi Arabia permits women to perform Umrah without a mahram; scholarly views on the matter vary, and we present both the official position and the range of views in our Journal guide so your family can decide with a scholar you trust.
03Who leads the group?
Marhaba's woman group leader travels with the group throughout.
04Can I join alone?
Yes; many travellers join on their own and travel as part of the group.
05What if my dates don't match a departure?
