Men enter primarily from the courtyard gates on the southern side, progressing past Bab al-Baqi and towards the noble chamber. Women have dedicated time slots—typically following Fajr prayer until approximately 11:00 AM, and following Isha prayer until late midnight—entering through the northern gates (Gates 32–37) under the care of female crowd supervisors.
Follow the instructions of the mosque marshals with patience and grace. The holding chambers are air-conditioned and organized in batches to prevent overcrowding on the green carpet.
Spiritual Adab (Etiquette) Inside the Rawdah
Upon entering the green carpeted area, aim to perform two Rak'ahs of Tahiyyat al-Masjid or Nafl prayer, make sincere Tawbah (repentance), and pour your heart out in heartfelt supplication. Keep your voice lowered and your gaze composed.
When passing the sacred resting place of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (RA), and Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA), convey your Salam with quiet dignity: 'As-salamu 'alayka ya Rasool Allah, wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.' Avoid raising your voice or turning back towards the chamber during du'a.
