Quick answer
Yes, AROYA sails during Ramadan 2027 and over Eid. The ship keeps running its 7-night Mediterranean cruises from Istanbul and Alexandria all month: booking sites list departures from Istanbul on 27 February (the last ten nights) and 6 March (over Eid al-Fitr, expected around 9 or 10 March). AROYA has not yet announced a special Ramadan programme for 2027, so we check suhoor and iftar times for your sailing before you book.
Last checked 1 November 2026. Onboard details are as published by each cruise line and can change; we confirm them for your sailing before you pay.
Expected dates
- Ramadan 1448: expected to begin on or around Monday 8 February 2027.
- Last ten nights: expected from the evening of about 27 February.
- Eid al-Fitr: expected on about 9 or 10 March 2027.
- Every date can move by a day with the moon sighting.
AROYA sailings in Ramadan and over Eid 2027
Istanbul sailings call at Alexandria (two days), Marmaris and Kuşadası before returning to Istanbul. These are the departures listed by cruise booking sites, which show only some dates, so other sailings may run in between. Dates are set by the cruise line and can change: tell us the days you have in mind and we check what is sailing.
- From Alexandria, 2 February: ends around the start of Ramadan.
- From Istanbul, 27 February, 7 nights: the last ten nights, from the expected 21st night.
- From Alexandria, 2 March: the last nights of Ramadan, into Eid.
- From Istanbul, 6 March, 7 nights: Eid al-Fitr at sea.
- From Istanbul, 13 March, 7 nights: just after Eid.
Fasting on a cruise
On a ship run as halal, the main needs are already part of daily life: halal food, prayer rooms and prayer times announced on board. In Ramadan the questions are about timing. Is suhoor served before Fajr? Is iftar ready at sunset, which changes as the ship moves? We ask the cruise line these questions for your sailing before you book.
Whether to fast while travelling is a question for your own scholar. Many families choose a sailing over Eid instead, so the holiday starts once the month is complete.
What AROYA has done before
In Ramadan 2025, AROYA ran 'Ramadan Along the Horizon' while the ship was docked in Jeddah: guests could visit for iftar, stay overnight and take suhoor on board. It shows the line plans for Ramadan, but each year's programme is announced separately, and nothing has been announced for the 2027 Mediterranean sailings yet. We will update this page when it is.
An Eid cruise instead
An Eid sailing suits families who want to celebrate together after the month: Eid prayer before boarding, then a week at sea with halal meals and no bar culture. February and March are cool in Istanbul, so pack layers; the Egyptian ports are warmer.

Questions
When is Ramadan 2027?
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027 and end on 8 or 9 March, with Eid al-Fitr on about 9 or 10 March. The exact dates depend on the moon sighting.
Does AROYA have a Ramadan cruise in 2027?
AROYA keeps sailing through Ramadan 2027: booking sites list 7-night cruises from Istanbul on 27 February and 6 March, and from Alexandria on 2 March. It has not announced a special Ramadan programme for 2027 (in 2025 it hosted iftar and suhoor on board in Jeddah), so we check suhoor and iftar times for your sailing when you enquire.
Can I spend Eid al-Fitr 2027 on a cruise?
Yes. The 6 March 2027 sailing from Istanbul, as listed by booking sites, is at sea over Eid al-Fitr, which is expected on about 9 or 10 March. Many families pray Eid before boarding a later sailing instead, such as the one listed for 13 March.
Can I combine Umrah in Ramadan with a cruise?
Yes, as two legs: Umrah in Makkah and Madinah, then a flight to Istanbul for the cruise, or the other way round. Ramadan hotel prices near the Haram peak in the last ten nights, so plan that part early.
