Your body is part of the preparation
Hajj asks a lot of the body. The Haj Committee of India warns that it can mean walking up to 25 km in a day in very hot weather, and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah counts physical capability as part of being able to perform Hajj.
The weeks before you leave are the time to prepare:
- See your doctor early, not the week you fly, about your health, your medicines and how much walking is safe for you.
- Carry your medicines with an official prescription and a medical report. Saudi Arabia enforces strict drug laws.
- Leave behind medicines you don't need.
This isn't medical advice. Your doctor decides what is safe for you.
