Muzdalifah to the Last Stoning

Rehearse the night at Muzdalifah, the 10th of Dhul Hijjah step by step, stoning safely, stoning on someone's behalf, and leaving on the 12th or 13th.

From the night at Muzdalifah to the last day in Mina, each day has its own steps and its own crowds.

Stoning safely

The Jamarat Bridge has five levels, many entrances and exits, and cooling, but the crowds are still the biggest risk. The Ministry's Jamarat guide:

  • Go at your group's designated time, by the train, bus or route your group uses. All the officially set times follow the views of recognised scholars.
  • Approach the Jamrah from the least crowded side.
  • Throw one pebble at a time, at the wall in the centre, so it lands in the basin, saying "Allahu Akbar" each time.
  • Take care not to harm anyone around you.
  • After the small and middle Jamrah, step aside from the path before making dua, so you don't block others.
  • If you walk, use a sun umbrella and comfortable shoes. Golf carts help the elderly and those who find walking hard.
