A taste of this World
The Umrah of Tamattu
Most pilgrims arrive in Makkah days before Hajj. If you're performing Hajj Tamattu, your trip starts with an Umrah. The Ministry's guide:
- On arrival, perform tawaf, then sa'i, then shave or trim your hair, and come out of ihram.
- You then stay out of ihram until the 8th of Dhul Hijjah, when you enter ihram again for Hajj from where you're staying.
- Tamattu pilgrims owe a sacrifice (hady) for Hajj.
