Eid away from home

For pilgrims, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, the busiest day of Hajj: the stoning of Jamrat al-Aqabah, the sacrifice, shaving or trimming, and Tawaf al-Ifadah. It's spent in Mina and Makkah, far from family.

The Ministry's guide describes the Days of Tashreeq (11th–13th) that follow as days of joy, festivity and worship, quoting the Prophet (peace be upon him): "The Days of Tashreeq are days of eating, drinking, and remembrance of Allah." It recommends saying the takbir often, especially after the obligatory prayers.
