Hajj from India costs different amounts on its two routes. Through the Haj Committee of India, the total cost for Haj 2026 was ₹3,43,200 to ₹4,19,000 per pilgrim depending on the embarkation point, including airfare; the Committee will announce the Haj 2027 cost once its contracts are finalised. Private Hajj packages, operated by registered Haj Group Organisers, are priced by each organiser and usually cost more, for shorter stays and a choice of hotels and Mina camps; GST and TCS are added. The Committee's 2027 draw has already taken place, so for anyone not selected the private route is the way to go in 2027.

- Haj Committee, Haj 2026 total cost including airfare: from ₹3,43,200 (Ahmedabad) to ₹4,19,000 (Vijayawada). The Committee gives these as a reference only; the Haj 2027 cost depends on new contracts.
- Selected Committee pilgrims pay an advance of ₹1,52,300 (₹1,50,000 advance, ₹2,000 miscellaneous dues and a ₹300 non-refundable processing fee), then ₹1,25,000 with the first waiting list and the balance by about 31 December 2026.
- Committee cancellations cost more the later they come: ₹20,000 per pilgrim for 1 to 15 November 2026, rising to ₹50,000 in late January 2027, and no refund after 31 January 2027.
- Private Hajj prices are set by each registered organiser. Shifting or non-shifting, the Mina camp category, hotel distance from the Haram, nights and room sharing make the biggest difference. GST and TCS are added.
- Private organisers must sign an agreement with each pilgrim listing the services and charges, take payment through bank accounts or other authorised channels, and take no advance before the Ministry allocates their quota.
In this Guide
Ask every seller for the all-in total per person for your room sharing, with GST and TCS shown, plus the hotels, the Mina camp category and the number of nights in writing. Two packages with the same headline price can be very different trips.
Two routes, two kinds of price
Every Indian pilgrim goes for Hajj either through the Haj Committee of India or on a private package operated by a Haj Group Organiser registered with the Ministry of Minority Affairs. For Hajj 2027 the Ministry expects India's quota to stay at 1,75,025 seats, shared 70:30 between the two.
The Committee charges every pilgrim from the same embarkation point the same amount, set once its contracts in India and Saudi Arabia are finalised. Private organisers set their own prices for each package, so private prices vary much more.
Haj Committee: what pilgrims paid, and the 2027 schedule
The Committee's Haj 2027 guidelines list each embarkation point's Haj 2026 cost as a reference: from ₹3,43,200 in Ahmedabad to ₹4,19,000 in Vijayawada, including airfare (table above). The guidelines say the actual Haj 2027 cost will depend on the rates obtained through procurement, and that the Committee will announce the estimated total in due course.
Selected pilgrims pay ₹1,52,300 first: an advance of ₹1,50,000, ₹2,000 in miscellaneous dues and a ₹300 processing fee that isn't refunded. The balance comes in two instalments: ₹1,25,000 when the first waiting list is released, and the rest by about 31 December 2026. If the exchange rate moves the cost up, the Committee charges the difference.
The 2027 application window closed on 24 July 2026 and the draw was held on 30 July 2026. Seats that free up go to the official waiting list. Nobody can sell you a Committee seat.
Haj Committee cancellation charges
The Committee discourages cancelling once selected, and deducts more the later the cancellation: ₹20,000 per pilgrim from 1 to 15 November 2026, ₹25,000 to 30 November, ₹30,000 from 1 to 15 December, ₹35,000 to 31 December, ₹40,000 from 1 to 15 January 2027 and ₹50,000 from 16 to 31 January. After 31 January 2027 there is no refund.
Smaller deductions apply in a few serious cases, such as a death or a certified medical emergency, and are smallest if the Committee is told within 10 days. The guidelines list the exact cases.
Private Hajj packages: what you pay for
Private packages are priced by each organiser, and usually cost more than the Committee route in exchange for shorter stays, a choice of hotels and a choice of Mina camp. The current price range of the packages Marhaba Haji arranges is shown on this page, read live from our package list.
What moves the price most: shifting or non-shifting (whether you stay near the Haram before Hajj), the Mina camp category, how far each hotel is from the Haram, the number of nights, and how many share a room. GST and TCS are added to the package price.
The Ministry's policy for organisers protects you here. Each organiser must sign an agreement with every pilgrim listing the services and the charges, including insurance, accommodation, air travel, transport and the length of stay. Pilgrims pay the agreed amount to the firm's account through their bank or another authorised channel, organisers may not take an advance before the Ministry allocates their quota, and organisers found dealing in cash are debarred.
How to compare Hajj prices fairly
Compare all-in totals per person for the same room sharing, with GST and TCS included. A lower headline price often means a further hotel, a lower Mina camp category or fewer nights.
Ask what is included and what isn't: Qurbani, the Madinah stay, meals and transport between the holy sites change the real cost. Read the payment schedule and refund terms before paying anything.
