Jordan Visa for Indians: Ziyarat of the Companions

Visa guidance for Indian passport holders visiting Jordan for ziyarat — the resting places of the Companions, Mu'tah and the Cave of Ahl al-Kahf — with entry options, documents and Sunnah etiquette.

Quick answer

Most Indian passport holders should arrange a Jordan visa before travel. A visa on arrival at Amman's Queen Alia airport is usually possible only if you also hold a valid US, UK, Schengen or Canadian visa. The Jordan Pass waives the visa fee only for travellers who are eligible for a visa on arrival and stay at least two whole nights. Rules change, so confirm before you fly. Our visa desk does not prepare Jordan visas, but we are happy to advise.

Visiting with adab

  • We visit the graves of the Companions and scholars as the Sunnah teaches: give salam, make du'a for them and move on. Our guides do not lead tawaf, touching or asking from the dead at any shrine.
  • Tours are planned around the five prayers.
  • Travel onward to Al-Aqsa needs separate entry permission and is not covered here.

Still deciding?

Our concierge replies on WhatsApp with options and an exact quote for your dates.

01Do Indians need a visa for Jordan?
Yes. Most Indian passport holders should arrange the visa before travel. A visa on arrival is usually possible only with a valid US, UK, Schengen or Canadian visa, and the Jordan Pass covers the visa fee only for travellers eligible for a visa on arrival. Confirm the current rules before you fly.
02Can I combine Jordan with Umrah?
Yes, as a separate leg before you first enter Saudi Arabia or after you finally leave. On a single-entry Saudi visa, leaving Saudi Arabia ends that visa.
