Leaving from India
Travel day starts long before the plane does.
- Keep your passport, visa, vaccination certificate and insurance document in your hand luggage, not your suitcase.
- Know when your airline's check-in counters close. Air India's close 60 minutes before an international departure.
- Power banks go in your carry-on bag only, never in checked baggage.
- Taking gold jewellery or other valuables? Declare them to Indian Customs when you leave, so you aren't asked to pay duty on them when you come home.
